Joe Castillo is a native of Garland,Texas who has over 30 years of experience as a high school and college football coach. Coach Castillo has spent the last 17 years of his career as a Head Football Coach and Campus Athletic Director at Little Elm, North Garland, and Burbank High School. He is currently the Assistant Athletic Director for Little Elm Independent School District. Coach Castillo earned both his Bachelor's Degree and Master’s Degree in Education from East Texas A&M University (formerly known as Texas A&M University-Commerce). Castillo's greatest memory as a coach was taking over at his alma mater, North Garland High School as Campus Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in 2012. He was hired by Dr. Curtis Culwell, the late Homer Johnson, and Cliff Odenwald. During his time at North Garland, he was able to grow the program from scratch. His players received many honors: THSCA All-Star Football Team, THSCA All-Academic Team, All-State Football Team, Numerous All-District Players from 2012-2022, 2018 (10-6A-Staff of the Year), and the playoffs in 2022. Castillo has also served the Texas High School Coaches Association in many roles: 2025 Speaker at the THSCA Leadership Summit, Rock Mentor, Football Advisory Chair for Regions 1-8, and most recently appointed to the Communication and Collaboration Committee. Joe and his wife, Angie, have been married for 24 years. They are the proud parents of Mary Jo (22), William (17) and Jacob (16).
